TelcoBridges’ Media Gateways Provide the SS7 Connections needed to Connect the Island’s TDM Infrastructure to VoIP Networks

Montreal, Canada: December 21, 2017TelcoBridges, the leading designer and manufacturer of carrier-grade Tmedia VoIP gateways, today announced that it has worked with leading Puerto Rican Telecom Service Provider Natural G.C. and global distributor Pulse Supply to successfully restore and upgrade Puerto Rico’s telecom infrastructure following the destruction created by Hurricane Maria.

Prior to the hurricane, much of Puerto Rico’s telecom infrastructure featured legacy landlines connected to different service provider networks. The hurricane’s high winds destroyed most of the above-ground landline infrastructure, making it difficult for residents and businesses to communicate locally and internationally.

Natural G.C. is a leading service provider of voice, data, video and technical support services in Puerto Rico. They worked with Pulse Supply to deploy a TelcoBrides media gateway in their network. The media gateway deployed allowed Natural G.C. to interconnect with the island’s incumbent carrier using the SS7 protocol.

In the immediate aftermath of the hurricane, Natural G.C. leveraged solar power to get all of its systems quickly back on line. And with the help of Pulse Supply and TelcoBridges, the company was able to restore phone service for thousands of Puerto Ricans.

“Natural G.C. is very focused on providing the best telecommunications services for Puerto Ricans and we are proud to help make this possible,” said Gary Glasgall, Regional Director for Pulse Supply.

“The solution provided by Pulse Supply using TelcoBridges’ TMG800 addressed the SS7 interconnection issues that we faced prior to the hurricane,” said Natural G.C.’s Crucito Marrero. “The connection came up on the first day and it has been up ever since. We’re continuing to collaborate together to maintain, and to extend the quality of voice and data services across all of Puerto Rico.”

“The solution provided by Pulse Supply allows Natural G.C. to cost-effectively perform TDM-to-SIP interconnections with other carriers throughout Puerto Rico, and the Tmedia gateways add capacity while also making their networks more reliable,” said Gaetan Campeau, CEO of TelcoBridges. “We’re happy to have played a role in this project, which we think will bring ongoing enhancements to communications services across Puerto Rico.”

For more than 15 years, TelcoBridges has maintained a relentless focus on performance and functionality, which has resulted in the industry’s most trouble-free, efficient and feature rich media gateways and session border controllers. TelcoBridges’ products have been deployed in more than 100 countries in carrier networks. To learn more, visit www.telcobridges.com or contact us at info@telcobridges.com.

LANCK Telecom Selects TelcoBridges Tmedia Gateways to Carry Voice Traffic around the Globe

Value Added Reseller Pulse Supply Provides TelcoBridges’ Gateways to LANCK

Boucherville, Quebec (PRWEB) March 25, 2013

TelcoBridges today announced that LANCK Telecom is using TelcoBridges Tmedia gateways to terminate VoIP traffic into local PSTN and GSM networks.

Based in St. Petersburg, Russia, LANCK delivers international voice traffic to more than 190 countries across its own network spanning North America, Europe and Asia. More than half of the worlds Skype traffic crosses LANCKs state-of-the-art network, which supports various types of carrier-to-carrier interconnection, such as SS7, ISDN PRI, VoIP-H.323 and VoIP-SIP. With POP locations in: Frankfurt; Helsinki; Tallinn; Vilnius; London; Paris; Zagreb; Warsaw; Los Angeles; New York; Miami; Singapore; Johannesburg and Hong Kong, the volume of traffic crossing LANCKs network is rapidly expanding.

LANCK sought an alternative equipment provider to support its growth and expansion. Training costs and recurring annual maintenance fees from LANCKs equipment provider were becoming difficult to justify, and the companys costs were inflated by the need to deploy controllers and other hardware to manage the network. LANCK selected Pulse Supply to provide TelcoBridges high-performance VoIP gateways.

We supplied LANCK with TelcoBridges TMG-3200 STM-1 VoIP gateway for an initial deployment at the core of their network, and LANCK is now adopting the products for its international POPs, said Michael Banschbach, Vice President of Pulse Supply. Tmedia is the right solution for LANCK. It provides a substantial performance improvement over their previous system, while ensuring 100-percent uptime that LANCK needs to grow its business around the globe.

With integrated SS7 signaling, the VoIP gateway from TelcoBridges can fulfill the roles of media gateway, signaling gateway and media gateway controller, without the need for additional hardware. This provides LANCK with an alternative to NGN solutions and offers superior performance and reliability at a lower cost. Furthermore, the TelcoBridges Tmedia VoIP gateway supports n+1 STM-1 protection and TelcoBridges renowned 24/7 support.

Pulse Supply and TelcoBridges share a common philosophy when it comes to delivering robust and reliable technology that can be counted on, without exception, said Konstantin Avdeev, CTO for LANCK Telecom. “In order to provide our customers with the service, the highest network reliability and the most competitive rates, we continuously test our suppliers in order to find the best solutions available. We can't say enough about the value we've received from TelcoBridges and Pulse Supply.

About TelcoBridges:
TelcoBridges is a leader in the design and manufacture of carrier grade, high performance, and high-density VoIP media gateways which bridge the gap between TDM and IP. TelcoBridges accredited partners (consisting of valued-added resellers, system integrators, and solution developers) have deployed VoIP media gateway solutions with remote and onsite installation, as well as personalized 24/7 support in over 70 countries worldwide. Pulse Supply Discusses the Session Border Controller Market

By Rich Steeves
TMCnet Web Editor

Pulse (News - Alert) Supply has been in business since 1996, and has continually changed its business model to meet the constant evolution of the technology space. Initially built on addressing data communications and the WAN market, the company now focuses on wireless communications, traditional datacom and VoIP. The company now boasts eight offices across the U.S. and its technically trained salespeople work with businesses of all sizes. I recently had the chance to speak with Michael Banschbach, vice president and co-founder of the company, about the session border controller market from Pulses point of view.

Banschbach stated that this is an exciting time to be in the telecommunications space, as more and more companies are seeing the value of SIP trunking. Companies are starting to see the ROI that SIP provides, and as the technology grows in popularity, businesses are coming to Pulse to ask what they need in order to make the transition to SIP. These companies want to be sure that their communications are safe and secure, but they don't always know what that entails.

Benefits of Session Border Controllers

The team from Pulse Supply works closely with companies to ensure they have the knowledge necessary to deploy the right technology for their needs. The expert sales team at Pulse discusses the benefits of deploying session border controllers, educating companies on the vital functions of SBCs. Banschbach highlighted several key features of SBCs:

  • Security: SBCs help guard against viruses, Trojans and denial of service attacks.
  • Interoperability: With different providers, legacy technologies and different “Flavors of SIP, businesses need SBCs to ensure that these different types of traffic are able to interoperate.
  • Encryption: An SBC can encrypt data, protecting calls across the Internet.
  • Large Deployments: Big corporations have many sites with thousands of employees working from across the country and even in their homes. If the phone system needs to reregister after a glitch, an SBC can handle this without crashes.
  • Fax: Many companies still use analog fax technology, which does not always interoperate with VoIP systems. SBCs can detect fax tones and redirect as needed.
  • Unified Communications (News - Alert): SBCs provide the glue to bring disparate systems together.

Pulse Supply had an initial relationship with Quintum (News - Alert), which was absorbed into NET and then became a part of Sonus, and now Sonus is one of Pulses major partners. With a wide range of products, SBCs from Sonus can meet the needs of the smallest and largest companies, and this fit the vision of the company that Banschbach helped found over 16 years ago. Now, with the widespread acceptance of SIP technology, both Pulse and Sonus are poised to bring next-generation communications to the masses.

AUSTIN, TEXAS -- (October 3, 2012): LightPointe, the number one manufacturer of point-to-point Gigabit capacity FSO wireless bridges, and Pulse Supply, a Value Added Distributor, are exhibiting the latest generation of optical wireless bridges at the ITEXPO show in Austin, Texas. Pulse Supply, one of LightPointes premier distributors in the U.S., is presenting the AireStrata G Free Space Optics wireless bridge, which is the industrys only 4-laser system with auto-tracking, thus providing reliable and secure Gigabit Ethernet data transmission over long distances and without the radio frequency congestion and interference issues associated with competing wireless bridges.

The ITEXPO show has gained a wide following and we are excited to present the latest in wireless point-to-point data transmission technologies with our partner LightPointe, said Michael Banschbach, vice president of Pulse Supply. Our enterprise and carrier customers have had excellent results with LightPointe installations, which provide rapid and cost effective deployment of Gigabit Ethernet capacity connectivity between buildings. The AireStrata G has been especially well-received, due to technological advantages over other optical bridges, including the use of 850 nanometer laser technology, which provides superior performance and reliability over first generation 1550 nanometer laser systems. The AireStrata G also includes highly precise German lenses, and each side of the all-outdoor AireStrata G wireless link operates with 4 transmission beams/lenses and 4 receive beams/lenses. This provides redundancy and unparalleled network uptime for our valued customers. In addition to the GigE capacity and low latency advantages of the AireStrata G, our customers appreciate the ability to own their own network rather than pay for expensive leased lines every month. And since the AireStrata G is PoE-powered and license-free worldwide, installation is fast and there are no regulatory delays and annual licensing costs.

LightPointe, which is headquartered in San Diego, California, is the only manufacturer in the world producing all three of the leading wireless bridge technologies, including Free Space Optics bridges, 60/70/80 GHz backhaul solutions and industry-exclusive and patented hybrid optical-radios, which combine the advantages of laser transmission with RF backup for up to 99.999% reliability. The companys point-to-point solutions are designed for enterprise building connectivity and for 4G/LTE carriers in their small cell backhaul infrastructure.

Pulse Supply is one of our leading value added distributors in the United States and is renowned for their excellent customer support and technical know-how, said John Taylor, vice president of sales for LightPointe. Pulse Supply stands out in the VAR field because they offer a balanced portfolio of best of breed technologies and can custom tailor solutions depending on the customerâs specific needs, whether that customer is a telco carrier, service provider or reseller providing a wireless bridge to their end-user. The breadth Pulses product offering is also a key to their success and includes products that enable operation over legacy TDM networks such as xDSL, fiber, E1, T1, SONET, SDH, OC-3 and STM-1. Pulse understands the challenges faced by customers as they transition to IP based products and networks, and as they upgrade their wireless networks to GigE capacity. In addition, Pulse offers a range of solutions tailored for government customers, enterprises and cellular carrier networks such as GSM, CDMA, UMTS, 3G and 4G/LTE.

To learn more during the ITEXPO show, visit the Pulse Supply booth, #821.
